  • All-new Tourneo Custom range now available to configure and order; all-electric E‑Tourneo Custom order books open soon for 2024 delivery

The all-new Tourneo Custom from Ford Pro raises the bar in the multi-activity vehicle segment, combining a new platform engineered for maximum versatility and comfort with capable, refined powertrains including a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option and available all-wheel drive.

Tourneo Custom is designed to enhance the multi-activity vehicle experience for both personal-use and business customers, offering spacious accommodation for up to nine occupants. The new model introduces a full suite of premium features including ultra-flexible track-mounted rear seating, hands-free power side doors, B&O audio system, panoramic glass roof – and an innovative steering wheel with a rim that tilts to create a table or work surface.

Comfort levels are further enhanced by the superior refinement and vehicle dynamics delivered by next-generation vehicle design. The optimised chassis architecture with independent rear suspension offers a new level of ride comfort and stability, supported by the new smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission option.

“Whether it’s an active family trip at the weekend or shuttling execs to the airport in style, comfort and refinement, Tourneo Custom’s advanced connectivity, cutting-edge design and new luxury features make it the compelling choice,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe

As part of the most comprehensive Tourneo Custom range ever, the new model can be specified with the latest generation of Ford EcoBlue diesel engines with 136 PS, 150 PS and 170 PS power outputs, as the all-new PHEV version, or as E-Tourneo Custom, featuring an electric powertrain with a 64 kWh usable battery pack and 160 kW motor for up to 325 km of driving range. Diesel-powered models are already in production, and customers can now order the all-new Tourneo Custom PHEV for delivery from spring 2024, with E-Tourneo Custom scheduled to follow in summer 2024.

Every all-new Tourneo Custom is also fully integrated with the Ford Pro platform of software and connected services including management tools from Ford Pro Software, the FordPass Pro app,  and the FORDLiive connected uptime system.

Designed for space and comfort – with flexible seating and luxury features

The all-new Tourneo Custom has been developed to offer occupants significantly enhanced levels of comfort and convenience. A stylish new interior features superior craftsmanship and material quality, and the highly specified cabin is packed with premium features.

An optimised vehicle platform ensures generous cabin space regardless of powertrain choice. Standard and long wheelbase models each offer three rows of seating for up to nine occupants, delivering next-level practicality across the range.

The enhanced interior specification starts with a flexible new track-mounted seating system in the second and third rows, for maximum adaptability when arranging the cabin for people and luggage. The tracked seating enables customers to slide seats forward or back along notched tracks set into the rear cabin floor, or to lift seats out completely. The three second row seats can each be moved independently, while the third row seats have a two seat/one seat split.

The new seats are lighter than those in the outgoing model and the second row features integrated seatbelts, so reconfiguring the cabin – including into a class-unique six-person conference layout – can be done more quickly and easily. ISOFIX points are available on all three seats in the second row as well as the two outboard seats in the third row.

The luxurious cabin specification includes further new features for customers to personalise their vehicle and enhance their travelling experience, including a large glass panoramic roof that enhances the sensation of space and light for occupants, with infrared treatment to help keep the cabin cool in strong sunlight. Power-operated sliding side doors also feature hands-free operation. The doors can be opened using a simple kicking motion near the front wheel, making access easier when returning to the vehicle while carrying heavy boxes or luggage.

For maximum comfort on the move, Tourneo Custom’s cabin offers high-end features such as:

  • Tri-zone electronic air temperature control
  • 14-speaker B&O sound system with subwoofer located in the rear compartment
  • Sophisticated ambient interior lighting
  • Wireless charging pad for mobile devices
  • Heated outboard seats in the second row.

Tourneo Custom customers can choose from a range of desirable model variants, including the adventurous Active and eye-catching Sport series, and the range-topping Titanium X, which offers the most comprehensive specification of any Tourneo ever – with standard features ranging from stylish 19-inch alloy wheels and full matrix LED headlights to luxurious Sensico synthetic leather seat material.

The Tourneo Custom’s enhanced feature content is combined with a significant improvement in capability and performance. The vehicle’s all-new architecture delivers a lower floor height and a new integrated side step to make ingress and loading easier, supported by a class-leading aperture for the sliding side door.

The optimised platform has also enabled a reduced overall height of under two metres for many variants, which can allow access to garages and multi-storey car parks that are often inaccessible to vehicles in the Tourneo Custom segment, as well as contributing to optimised efficiency and refinement through improved aerodynamics.

Both drivers and passengers will benefit from the dynamic improvements provided by a completely redesigned chassis featuring an all-new independent rear suspension system that is standard across the range to deliver enhanced ride comfort, handling and refinement.

Innovative design – inside and out

The all-new Tourneo Custom makes a clear statement on the road, with an expressive and sculptural design to appeal to private customers and high-end businesses alike. With a confident stance, the vehicle has increased visual width front and rear, for a planted and stable appearance.

The sophisticated yet practical design is continued within the vehicle, where the stylish two- or three-seat front cabin offers a significant step forward in technology and comfort. The instrument panel features an ergonomic 13-inch central touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility as standard. The central screen is complemented by a new digital instrument cluster to create an intuitive, driver-focused cockpit.

Many customers use Tourneo Custom as a mobile living room or office on the road. To support these uses, Tourneo Custom offers the same innovative tilting steering wheel that Ford Pro first revealed in the E‑Transit Custom. The useful, class-unique feature can be used as an ergonomic device holder for laptops and tablets, or folded flat to become a convenient table. The wheel’s “squircle” shape – and a column-mounted shifter for vehicles with an automatic transmission – free up more knee and leg space as well as making ingress and egress easier.

Further front cabin space and increased instrument panel storage is created by the roof-mounted front passenger airbag. This enables customers to keep laptop or A4 folder-sized items in covered dashboard storage, and means portable electronic devices can now be safely fitted closer to the driver with industry-standard AMPS mountings.

Choice of powertrains to suit customer needs

Ford Pro offers Tourneo Custom with its latest-generation EcoBlue diesel engines in 136 PS, 150 PS or 170 PS power outputs – combined with a choice of a new high-efficiency eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.

An all-wheel drive option can enhance confidence for customers who need all-weather capability and for owners accessing campsites, beaches and trails. The system intelligently distributes torque between the front and rear axles via an electronically-controlled coupling, with adjustments taking less than 20 milliseconds, and is available for vehicles fitted with the 136 PS and 170 PS EcoBlue diesel engine and automatic gearbox. Owners who require more traction but prefer a manual gearbox can specify a mechanical limited-slip differential with the 136 PS and 150 PS EcoBlue diesel engines.

The all-new Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid model uses a parallel hybrid system to offer the flexibility of an efficient 2.5‑litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine for long-distance cruising, as well as an electric motor, for a combined maximum output of 232 PS; the 11.8 kWh useable battery pack enables a pure-electric driving range of up to 52 km, ideal for journeys within urban low emission zones, as well as up to 2.3 kW through electrical sockets with Pro Power Onboard.

All powertrain variants offer highly competitive towing capability, including a braked trailer weight of up to 2,500 kg for diesel-powered models and 1,850 kg for PHEV models. A new retractable towbar option allows customers to easily remove the tow hook from view when it is not being used.

Tourneo Custom features a comprehensive suite of Ford’s latest advanced driver assistance systems, including a number of features available on the model for the first time:

  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Reverse Brake Assist
  • 360-degree camera system that provides a comprehensive view around the vehicle for easier manoeuvring in the city

Tourneo Custom introduces Ford’s Exit Warning technology to the Tourneo family of people movers for the first time. This useful technology warns occupants of approaching cars or cyclists when opening a door to help prevent “dooring” accidents, and can also alert parents if children in the rear passenger cabin are opening the sliding side door and may run out into traffic.

Comprehensive, connected support

Superfast connectivity via a standard 5G modem powers convenient, intuitive support from Ford Pro’s digital services to make running Tourneo Custom simpler and more cost-efficient. Owners can remotely lock the doors, monitor vehicle security and get vehicle-specific health alerts via the FordPass app or, for business operators, productivity-boosting Ford Pro software. The modem also enables wireless Ford Power-Up software updates to improve Tourneo Custom’s features and capabilities without requiring a trip to the dealership.

Tourneo Custom features Alexa Built-in from factory. This puts a personal AI in the cab to help drivers stay connected and organised, making driving time easier and more productive. Alexa Built-in means drivers can use simple voice commands to set the address of their next stop in the navigation system, make phone calls, or even make purchases directly through Amazon.com. The feature is integrated into the central touchscreen’s SYNC 4 system.

Production of the all-new Tourneo Custom is already underway at Ford Otosan’s state-of-the-art new Yeniköy plant in Kocaeli, Türkiye.
