The Renault KEC 400, the seventh and final round of the 2024 SA Rally-Raid Championship, scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, 8 and 9 November from Legends Adventure Farm Rhino Park, 60 kilometres from Pretoria, promises to be an exciting event for competitors and spectators alike and with various championship titles still up for grabs, the tension will be intense.

The venue for the final round of the season, Legends Adventure Farm, is situated on the R515 Rhino Park, less than 100 kilometres from central Gauteng as well as the East and West Rand, and enthusiasts and supporters will be in for a treat of top-level high-speed racing action on Friday and Saturday.

The Renault KEC 400 will be structured as a Super Event and will start with the Castrol Qualifying Race on Friday morning. Teams will take on this 20-kilometre racing section based at Legends Adventure Farm at 10:15 and will give it their all as it will determine the starting positions for Stage One that follows on Friday afternoon.

And while putting their race vehicles in the Ultimate,  Adventurer and SSV Classes through the paces to post the best possible time in the qualifying section, teams will have to do so with precision as there is not much time for repairs before taking on the 85 kilometres of Stage One at 13:15.

With just over 100 kilometres of the stimulating route on the first day done and dusted, the teams will start Stage Two on Saturday according to the first day’s results. Stages Two and Three will consist of 175 kilometres each with the challenging route starting with fast, open and flowing tracks before entering the more technical mountainous section.

After more fast and flowing sections, teams will cross the first gravel road into another technical rocky area, followed by more fast tracks around cultivated fields. After a short decontrol, there will be a river crossing preceded by yet another fast section in a valley. The route will then cross the R25 to tackle more fast sections around cultivated fields before entering a game farm where competitors can expect open and flowing tracks. More racing around cultivated fields as well as some rugged sections with technical tracks and rocky routes are on the menu, alternated by fast flowing tracks.

On Saturday morning, Stage Two will start at 08:00 at Legends Adventure Farm with the leading team expected back at the Designated Service Park (DSP) at 10:00 for the compulsory 30-minute service break before focussing on Stage Three. The Renault KEC 400 will finish at the same venue where the podium ceremonies will be held.

Enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with various excellent vantage points along the route while they will also be welcome at the DSP at Legends Adventure Farm where the Race Headquarters will be situated. Food and refreshments will be on sale at the venue.

With so much to win – and to lose – the Renault KEC 400 promises to deliver red-hot racing action, and with this final event of the SA Rally-Raid Championship held so close to the Pretoria and Johannesburg areas, it is the perfect opportunity to experience the action first hand.
