Kia announces September 2023 global sales results

• September 2023 global sales at 261,322 units, up 4.8% Y/y
• Outside of Korea, Kia sold 216,568 units, up 3.5% Y/y
• In Korea, Kia sold 44,123 units, up 11% Y/y
• Kia SUV models led the company’s sales, with the Sportage SUV selling 47,352 units, followed by the Seltos and Sorento SUV

Kia Corporation today announced total global sales of 261,322 units in September 2023, a 4.8 percent increase year over year.

Excluding special purpose vehicles, sales were up 3.5 percent from a year earlier to 216,568 units outside of Korea. In the Korean market, Kia recorded 44,123 unit sales, a 11 percent increase year over year.

Kia SUV models led the company’s sales growth, with the Sportage selling 47,352 units in August. The Seltos and Sorento SUV models followed, selling 31,162 and 22,495 units respectively.

Sales outside of Korea 
Kia sales outside of Korea increased by 3.5 percent compared to the same month last year, with 216,568 units sold.

In markets outside of Korea, the Sportage SUV led the sales momentum with 41,950 units. The Sportage was followed by the Seltos SUV, which sold 26,763 units and the K3 (also known as Forte outside of Korea), which sold 17,290 units.

In August, Kia sold 44,123 units in the Korean market, a 11 percent increase from the same period last year.

The Sorento SUV led the company’s sales of passenger vehicles in its home market, with registrations of 10,190 units. The Sportage and Seltos SUV followed with sales of 5,402 and 4,399 units respectively.

Kia will continue to build its sales momentum with the launch of the new K5 sedan and Carnival MPV models. Kia also expects its EV brand proposition to be further strengthened with the new EV9, the company’s first three-row seat electric flagship SUV, soon to be rolled out across global markets.
