Kia announces November 2023 global sales results

• November 2023 global sales of 260,227 units, up 1.7% Y/y
• Outside of Korea, Kia sold 209,637 units, up 3% Y/y
• In Korea, Kia sold 50,022 units, down 3.6% Y/y
• Kia SUVs led the company’s sales, including Sportage and Seltos models

Kia Corporation today announced total global sales of 260,227 units in November 2023, a 1.7 percent increase year over year.

Excluding special purpose vehicles, sales were up three percent compared with the same period in 2022, to 209,637 units outside of Korea. In the Korean market, Kia recorded sales of 50,022 units, a 3.6 percent decrease year over year.

Kia SUV models led the company’s sales growth, with the Sportage selling 47,200 units globally in November. The Seltos and Sorento SUVs backed up this strong market performance, with sales of 33,883 and 21,923 units respectively.

Sales outside of Korea

Kia sales outside of Korea increased by three percent compared with the same month last year, to 209,637 units.

In markets outside of Korea, the Sportage SUV led the brand’s momentum, with 41,218 sales. The Sportage was followed by the Seltos SUV, which sold 29,437 units, and the K3 (also known as Forte outside of Korea), which sold 19,436 units.

In November, Kia sold 50,022 units in the Korean market, a 3.6 percent decrease compared with the same period last year.

The Sorento SUV led the company’s sales of passenger vehicles in its home market, recording 9,364 sales. The Sportage SUV and Carnival MPV followed, with sales of 5,982 and 5,857 units respectively.

Kia will continue to build its sales momentum with the launch of the new K5 sedan and Carnival MPV models, while further strengthening its EV offering

The company’s flagship and first fully electric three-row SUV, the EV9, was recently named ‘Family Car of the Year’ at the 2023 TopGear.Com Awards and has been shortlisted for 2024 European Car of the Year.
