Auto Shanghai, officially known as the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, is a premier biennial automotive trade show held in Shanghai, China that underscores China’s pivotal role in the global automotive industry, highlighting advancements in smart mobility, and sustainable automotive solutions. With this year’s theme being ‘Embracing Innovation, Empowering the Future’, the exhibition attracted over one million visitors, with an exhibition area spanning 360 000 square meters, featuring over 1 000 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions.
Amongst the visitors were media from around the world, with Jetour welcoming over 130 media members and influencers from the Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia-Pacific.
The three-day gathering incorporated the best of Jetour’s ‘Travel +’ culture together with a historic tech reveal, a Jetour International media workshop and test drives of the brand’s newest vehicles.

Part of the event saw Jetour unveil its new GAIA hybrid off-road architecture, powering the premium G700 and G900 SUVs. Featuring advanced dual power systems, amphibious capabilities, and high-tech features like satellite communication and oxygen generation, GAIA sets a new standard for intelligent, all-terrain performance. According to recent reports, the G700 is set to make its global debut in the UAE in the last quarter of this year.
As with any motoring conference, test drives are always a highlight, and Shanghai Auto did not disappoint, leaving attendees thoroughly impressed by the brand’s technical expertise and advanced innovations across the various models.
Media were able to experience the Jetour T1, T2 i-DM and G700 for themselves. The Jetour T1 is a versatile off-road SUV, blending city agility with off-road power and comfort, featuring the innovative XWD intelligent four-wheel drive system for dynamic terrain adaptation. The hybrid T2 i-DM enhances the T2’s rugged design with a high-efficiency power system, offering smoother driving, better fuel efficiency, and quieter performance, while the G700’s autonomous parking feature generated excitement during test drives.

The XWD intelligent four-wheel drive system stole the spotlight, showcasing its ability to dynamically redistribute power for optimal grip during the cross-axle test, while the vehicle’s reinforced chassis and advanced suspension ensured superior stability and security on steep side slopes.
Jetour also utilised this event to advance its global strategy by hosting a media workshop with over 40 journalists from key international markets and launching the Jetour Media Alliance (JMA). This new platform fosters global media collaboration through product evaluations and co-created brand initiatives, further positioning Jetour as a leading hybrid off-road brand worldwide.
The Jetour T2 was launched in China in September 2023, followed by its international debut in the UAE in January 2024. The T1 and T2 i-DM are already making waves in the Middle East, with plans for rapid expansion into Africa, South America, Asia-Pacific, and the CIS region.

Locally in South Africa, Jetour launched in September last year with the 5-seater Jetour Dashing and 7-seater Jetour X70 Plus, with plans to unveil more exciting models locally over the next few years, beginning later this year.
Shanghai Auto 2025 was the perfect opportunity for Jetour to showcase its “Travel+” culture through immersive experiences at urban landmarks, hands-on tech demos, media workshops, and the launch of the Global Media Alliance (JMA), marking a key step in elevating its brand.
