  • Second annual Report provides latest details on Bentley’s journey to be global leader in sustainable luxury mobility
  • Detailed 125-page document focuses on major sustainability initiatives to support company’s Beyond100 strategy
  • Key messages include wellbeing, environment and the business transformation to an all-electric model range
  • Report is available to read online

Bentley Motors has revealed its second annual Sustainability Report, highlighting how the British marque aims to become the global leader in luxury sustainable mobility. The 125-page document focuses on the brand’s achievements in 2023, as the company targets end-to-end carbon neutrality by the end of the decade. It also throws the spotlight on the initiatives and programmes that support more than 4,000 colleagues working at the carbon neutral factory in Crewe, where all Bentley models are built.

The comprehensive Report, which is available to read online reveals Bentley’s tireless work towards a more sustainable future. It examines every aspect of the business, including employee and customer wellbeing, even investigating how Bentley drivers and passengers can feel better after a long journey.

In relation to the Bentley headquarters in Crewe, the new report details how colleagues now benefit from the company’s new People Strategy. A revitalised high-performance culture includes health and wellbeing activities, promoting an overall vision of ‘success through people’. This includes the Role Model Programme of mentoring, while Future Skills and Colleague Development prepares them for the transformation to building an all-electric range of cars. The Charge Forward Leadership Programme (CFLP) targets colleagues in senior leadership roles and future talent, helping them develop and enhance their leadership capabilities.

Bentley’s new Advancing Life Chances (ALC) strategy is focused on supporting the most pressing social issues around Crewe, with packages of targeted community investment. The Bentley Environment Foundation is part of the wider strategy, offering grants to co-created, environmental projects that go beyond carbon neutrality and inspire rejuvenation and regeneration.

Jan-Henrik Lafrentz, Member of the Board for Finance and IT, commented:

“The second annual Report reflects Bentley’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, a core element of our Beyond100 strategy in achieving carbon neutrality and the continuation of our journey to be leaders in sustainable luxury mobility.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Sustainability Council, together with our many talented colleagues and board, our customers who share our passion for extraordinary journeys and our suppliers who support our drive for a better world, I am confident we will make the critical shifts necessary to tackle our collective sustainability ambitions.”

Dr Nicholas Garrett, Director and Co-Founder, RCS Global Group – An SLR Company, added:

“As a member of the Bentley Sustainability Council at Bentley Motors, I am honored to contribute to shaping Bentley’s sustainability journey towards a just and regenerative future. Our Council acts not only as a strategic advisor but also as a catalyst for change, challenging and reinforcing the effectiveness of the Beyond100 strategy. Through rigorous evaluation and dynamic collaboration, we ensure that sustainability is not just a goal but a driving force in every decision Bentley makes. This report is therefore another important milestone in transparently underlining Bentley’s bold ambition to be the leader in sustainable luxury mobility.”

Dr Andrew Dent, EVP of Materials Research, Material ConneXion, and a member of the Sustainability Council at Bentley Motors, commented:

“It’s great to be a part of a process that gives clarity, transparency and with quantified ambitious goals to get to a just and regenerative future for all the stakeholders in the Bentley journey. The report to me is a clear declaration about what is important to Bentley; to be the leader in sustainable luxury mobility. May others read and follow suit!”
