TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) will be the official Safety Car partner of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS for 2023, following a successful introduction last season.
The year, the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS is the only dedicated international GT series based in Asia to feature races in more than one country. The opening round will be held in May at Chang International Circuit in Thailand followed by four rounds in Japan, at Fuji Speedway, Suzuka Circuit, Mobility Resort Motegi and Okayama International Circuit. These collectively count towards the ‘championship within a championship’ Fanatec Japan Cup, which was newly established last year. Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia hosts the final round of the season.
At all events this season, TGR will provide a GR or Lexus brand vehicle as the official Safety Car, which leads the field at the start of the race and during any period when racing is neutralised, to contribute towards the safe and efficient operations of each race.
Globally, TGR will continue to actively support customer motorsports*1 in various ways. The valuable feedback gained from private teams running TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s products in races all over the world supports TGR to ’make ever-better motorsports-bred cars’.
