Repsol Honda HRC rider Toni Bou has won the 2025 FIM X-Trial World Championship. He has clinched his 19th consecutive title, extending his own record, in Round 7 in Cahors, France, held on March 22.
X-Trials or indoor trials, are held in stadiums covering man-made obstacle courses. The 2025 season was contested over eight rounds, in which Repsol Honda HRC’s Toni Bou endeavoured to ride his Montesa COTA 4RT HRC factory bike to an unprecedented 19th consecutive championship title.
After finishing second in the opening round in Madrid, Spain, Bou claimed its first win of the season in the following round in Chambery, France. He then continued his winning streak in Round 3, Clermont-Ferrand, France, and Round 4, Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain.
He then won Round 5, the inaugural Stavanger, Norway round, making it four consecutive round wins, while teammate Gabriel Marcelli came in second, giving the team its first 1-2 finish of the season. In Round 6, Wiener Neustadt in Austria, Bou won his fifth consecutive round, bringing him within reach of the championship title.

Bou then finished 2nd in Round 7, Cahors, France on March 22. With this result, Bou accumulated a sufficient points gap to his closest contender to claim his 19th consecutive championship title with the final round remaining.
Bou has won not only the X-Trial but also the outdoor FIM Trial World Championships for 18 consecutive seasons, bringing his total to 37 consecutive trial championship titles.
Toni Bou | Repsol Honda HRC
“I’m very happy. It’s clear that the goal was the title, right from the start. The season didn’t start the way we wanted in Madrid, but we managed to turn it around. We’re a very solid team, we don’t make mistakes and we’ve made it to every final possible. We’ve achieved many victories and I’ve ridden very well, so I’m really happy with the season and the title. It’s something very special, as you never know if it’s going to be the last. I’ve been very fortunate to win many more than I could have imagined, so I have to enjoy it.”
Takahisa Fujinami | Repsol Honda HRC Manager
“Toni has made history again, and I’m very proud to be able to experience this with him. In today’s race, he led throughout, but despite the advantage, the extra pressure for the title win was there. In the end, he finished second, and we’re very happy about our 37th title.”
