  • 18-year-old Dutchman wins round four of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland in Spa-Francorchamps
  • Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti finishes second on Belgium’s Formula 1 circuit ahead of series leader Robert de Haan
  • Sacha Norden fastest rookie, Sören Spreng wins ProAm category

One-two victory for team Schumacher CLRT at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: Flynt Schuring has won his second Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland race in as many seasons. The Dutchman from the German one-make cup’s Talent Pool secured a comfortable lights-to-flag victory ahead of Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti in the French team’s second Cup 911. Proton Huber Competition’s Robert de Haan crossed the finish line in third place. Thanks to this result, the Dutch driver defended his championship lead after four of the season’s 16 races.

“My start was critical, and I managed to fend off an attack from Alessandro,” reported Schuring, who started the 12-lap race on the Belgian Formula 1 circuit from pole position. “After that, I concentrated on driving a flawless race and preserving my tyres.” After winning Friday’s race and scoring 20 more points for second place on Saturday, Alessandro Ghiretti advanced to second place overall. “That was a great weekend for the whole team. Flynt put in a perfect performance today; he really deserved to win,” said the Frenchman in praise of his young teammate.

“I had no answer for the two black cars this weekend, but luckily, I scored enough points to defend my lead in the standings,” stated Robert de Haan, before sending a warning shot to the Schumacher CLRT duo: “Just wait until the next two races on my home circuit in Zandvoort, then the cards will be reshuffled.”

Podium (l-r): Thorsten Rückert (DEU), Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti (FRA), Schumacher CLRT (#11), Flynt Schuring (NLD), Schumacher CLRT (#12), Robert de Haan (NLD), Proton Huber Competition (#46), Benjamin Floch (FRA), Race Engineer Schumacher CLRT, Thomas Laudenbach (DEU), Vice President Porsche Motorsport, Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland 2025, Spa-Francorchamps (BEL)

Repeating Saturday’s result, positions three to six went to GP Elite drivers, but this time Huub van Eijndhoven had the edge in the team’s three-way inside battle. The Dutchman crossed the finish line less than a tenth of a second ahead of Israel’s Ariel Levi, with fellow countryman Kas Haverkort following in sixth. Janne Stiak (Target) was the best-placed German in seventh. Ninth place went to Porsche Junior Theo Oeverhaus from Germany (Bonk Motorsport).

Victory in the Rookie classification went to Sacha Norden at the wheel of Proton Huber Competition’s 375 kW (510 PS) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Norden leads the Rookie class of the one-make cup. “The first few laps were quite hectic with lots of tussles for position,” said the Carrera Cup newcomer from the Netherlands. “But I made it through the initial tumult unscathed and then avoided any trouble. I’m very happy with my second rookie victory.” The other Rookie trophies were claimed by Brazilian Matheus Ferreira (Target) and the Team75 Bernhard driver from Germany, Daniel Gregor.

Reigning champion Sören Spreng’s run of bad luck in the ProAm category finally ended. After again becoming entangled in a collision caused by another competitor on Friday, the German clinched his first win of the season in the Gentleman Driver category on Saturday. “I made it to the podium for the first time on my fourth attempt – this is the first time this season that I experienced a race without any major mishaps,” declared a delighted Spreng, who drives for the Dutch GP Elite team. After winning the ProAm category on Friday, Ahmad Alshehab from Team [a-workx] by Porsche Paderborn, followed up with second place ahead of ProAm class leader Michael Essmann (Team75 Bernhard).

“The Formula 1 circuit at Spa-Francorchamps once again guaranteed two action-packed races with spectacular overtaking moves. The backdrop of the FIA World Endurance Championship also gave the drivers of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland another fantastic experience. I take my hat off to the Schumacher CLRT team. They delivered a truly flawless performance this weekend. And congratulations to Robert de Haan, who defended his lead in the standings with incredible determination and cleverness,” commented Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.

Next up on the one-make cup’s calendar is the doubleheader in Zandvoort from 6 to 8 June. The Formula 1 circuit on the Dutch North Sea coast will host the fifth and sixth races of the season, which will be held as part of the DTM support programme.
