Pirelli has been confirmed as original equipment for the new Porsche Cayenne. The latest facelift for this iconic sporting SUV expands the collaboration between Pirelli and Porsche, with products from the P Zero range available for every wheel size on the Cayenne. This marks the most recent step in the joint development work on the Porsche Cayenne, a model that Pirelli has equipped across every generation: from the 2002 original to the present.
Specific P Zero, P Zero Corsa, and Scorpion Winter 2 tyres approved by Porsche for low-temperature driving have been developed for the latest facelift Cayenne. These options cover the entire range of wheel sizes from 20 to 22 inches. Scorpion Zero All Season tyres are also available for some markets, in every size.
The Pirelli P Zero developed for the new facelift meets the demands for drivability, steering precision, stability, and safety even during emergency manoeuvres. In particular, all sizes have achieved the highest rating on the European label when it comes to wet braking. Especially at high speeds, the tyre has been designed to support the high torque and loads generated by the vehicle.
The Pirelli P Zero Corsa has been chosen for sports and track driving. This product is derived from the P Zero Corsa that helped the Porsche Cayenne GT to set a record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2021. The P Zero Corsa for the new Cayenne – as well as the previous version that contributed to the record – is made with tread compounds derived from motorsport, developed by Pirelli to equip the fastest cars in the world.
The latest version of the Porsche Cayenne is one of the first vehicles to receive a specific Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 tyre approved for the winter season, covering the entire range of wheel sizes. The challenge faced by Pirelli’s engineers throughout the development of the winter tyres was demanding: to ensure safety at low temperatures and on snow, while maintaining very high performance on dry and wet surfaces. All with the same sporting DNA that Porsche expects from a summer tyre. To achieve this result, Pirelli’s R&D department created a dedicated winter compound, capable of providing driving comfort as well as tangible grip in extreme conditions.
PIRELLI: EQUIPPING THE CAYENNE SINCE THE VERY FIRST GENERATION
Pirelli has been a feature of the Cayenne since the very first generation was launched in 2002, pioneering the sports SUV segment. From the first model to the present day, Pirelli has always worked alongside the Stuttgart-based manufacturer to develop tyres that follow the evolution of its models, such as the Cayenne S Hybrid – the first hybrid in the Porsche range – then the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid (a plug-in hybrid version), right up to the current Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: the most powerful Cayenne ever introduced alongside the traditional powertrain facelift.
