Nissan Australia, a local sales subsidiary of Nissan Motor Corporation, unveiled the all-new Navara on November 19. The model is scheduled to go on sale in Australia and New Zealand at the end of the first quarter of 2026. The Navara has been a trusted partner for both work and travel, with cumulative sales of approximately 500,000 units since the launch of the first-generation model in 1986.
The new Navara features a design inspired by Nissan’s pickup heritage, a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, advanced driver-assistance systems, and a suspension optimized for driving conditions in Oceania, delivering a comfortable ride and excellent handling across all road surfaces.
Rugged Yet Sophisticated Design
The exterior design draws inspiration from Nissan’s pickup truck lineage. The signature V-motion grille gives the front fascia a bold presence, while the three-part intake openings outlined in orange pay homage to the first-generation model. The C-shaped headlamps connect seamlessly with the grille, creating a tough yet refined and advanced appearance.
Inside, the cabin offers a spacious and comfortable environment. A 7-inch color TFT meter is used for the instrument cluster, and the dashboard features a high-function 9-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ as standard.
Powertrain
The new model is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine producing a maximum output of 150 kW (204 PS) and peak torque of 470 Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Delivering both the capability required for heavy-duty tasks and excellent fuel efficiency of 7.7 L/100 km (WLTC mode), the powertrain is suited for diverse driving conditions, including city streets, highways, and off-road terrain. A newly adopted electric power steering (EPS) system enhances maneuverability and enables superior handling performance.
Advanced 4WD System
The vehicle features an advanced four-wheel-drive system that automatically switches modes based on driving conditions. It shifts to two-wheel drive during highway driving and engages four-wheel drive when towing or handling heavy-duty tasks. Combined with the electronically controlled differential lock—standard on all models—and a suspension optimized specifically for Oceania’s driving environment, the Navara provides stable control over any type of road surface.
Comprehensive Advanced Driver-Assistance Technologies
The new Navara supports the driver with a wide range of advanced driver-assistance systems, including Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), an emergency lane-keeping system that assists steering to help avoid danger, and the Intelligent Speed Limiter, which automatically recognizes speed-limit signs and alerts the driver.
