Kia announces October 2023 global sales results

Kia Corporation today announced total global sales of 257,709 units in October 2023, a 7.7 percent increase year over year.

Excluding special purpose vehicles, sales were up 9.2 percent compared with the same period in 2023, to 214,139 units outside of Korea. In the Korean market, Kia recorded sales of 42,960 units , a 0.4 percent increase year over year.

Kia SUV models led the company’s sales growth, with the Sportage selling 45,110 units globally in October. The Seltos and Sorento SUV models backed up this strong market performance,  with sales of 33,792 and 20,008 units respectively.

Sales outside of Korea

Kia sales outside of Korea increased by 9.2 percent compared with the same month last year,  to 214,139 units.

In markets outside of Korea, the Sportage SUV led the brand’s  momentum, with 40,403 sales. The Sportage was followed by the Seltos SUV, which sold 30,784 units, and the K3 (also known as Forte outside of Korea), which sold 18,439 units.

In October, Kia sold 42,960 units in the Korean market, a slight increase over its performance of 42,781 units through the same period last year.

The Sorento SUV led the company’s sales of passenger vehicles in its home market, selling 8,777 units. The Ray CUV and Sportage SUV followed, with sales of 4,824 and 4,707 units respectively.

Kia will continue to build its sales momentum with the launch of the new K5 sedan and Carnival MPV models. Kia’s EV brand proposition will be further strengthened with the new EV9, the company’s flagship vehicle and first three-row electric SUV, soon to be rolled out across global markets.
