The Jeep® Avenger continues to redefine the standards in the fiercely competitive B-SUV segment of the European market. Named the European Car of the Year 2023 this unique vehicle has now received an impressive 100,000 customer orders, since its launch in late 2022. With this milestone, the Jeep Avenger, produced and marketed in Europe, continues to cement its status as a trailblazer in B-SUV segment, underscoring the Jeep brand’s DNA of freedom, adventure, passion and fun driving.

Freedom of choice
The attainment of this milestone can be attributed to the embodiment of the Jeep Avenger as one of the most effective expressions of the typical freedom associated with the Jeep brand. This “Freedom of Choice” ethos emphasizes customer centrality and their needs, offering a wide array of choices, and is epitomized by the range offering of three engines, two transmissions and soon the possibility of the all-wheel drive.  Following the introduction of the inaugural fully electric vehicle adorned with the iconic Jeep badge, marking a significant shift towards sustainability, the Jeep brand has broadened the Avenger range with the introduction of the new Avenger e-Hybrid model. This expansion provides drivers with a flexible selection to cater to their preferences and requirements. Looking forward, the brand is preparing to introduce the highly anticipated Jeep Avenger 4xe by the conclusion of 2024, underscoring its ongoing dedication to innovation within the automotive sector. Its success is further underscored by the remarkable performance of the BEV variants, which account for 25% of total sales, signaling a significant shift towards sustainable mobility solutions.

e-Hybrid technology
Building on these accomplishments, Jeep has introduced the new Avenger e-Hybrid, designed to be a seamless transition for customers into the 100% electric world. Equipped with an advanced 48-Volt hybrid system, the Avenger e-Hybrid delivers an experience similar to a full-hybrid vehicle. The powertrain features a 100 HP internal combustion engine paired with a 21-kW electric motor integrated into a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This setup includes a 48-Volt belt-driven starter, ensuring a smooth transition to electric drive and further reducing CO2 emissions.

The e-Hybrid’s 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, located under the driver’s seat, maintains the cabin space identical to that of the petrol variant. The vehicle intelligently switches between propulsion types based on real-time driving conditions, battery charge level, and other monitored parameters, guaranteeing exceptional performance across various driving scenarios. This intelligent system adapts fluidly to road demands, whether operating in silent, all-electric mode during start-up, in efficient hybrid mode at cruising speed, or utilizing the combustion engine’s power during acceleration.

4xe – the all-wheel drive Capability to enhance Fun and Freedom
The introduction of the Jeep Avenger 4xe, which orders are slated to open by Q4 of 2024, is a significant milestone for the brand, representing a major advancement in both technology and design. This model boasts an innovative powertrain that combines the benefits of a hybrid system with state-of-the-art all-wheel-drive technology. Central to this setup is a powerful 48V hybrid system, featuring a 1.2-liter turbo engine producing 136 hp, complemented by two 21 kW electric motors at the front and rear. This system, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enables full electric driving at low speeds through its integrated electric motor. The vehicle also features an E-Boost function in Sport Mode, enhancing the thrilling performance that Jeep enthusiasts expect. The 4xe powertrain also delivers exceptional performance, achieving a maximum power output of 136 hp and a top speed of 194 km/h.

As the Jeep Avenger continues to evolve and inspire, its journey is far from over. With the upcoming release of the Jeep Avenger 4xe and ongoing advancements in hybrid technology, Jeep is not only meeting the demands of today’s drivers but also shaping the future of Jeep brand in Europe.
