  • New P300 LS joins P-Series range, offering more power, style and confidence for SA drivers
  • 2.4T diesel engine, 135 kW, 480 Nm, 3.5 tonne towing capacity
  • Cabin features leather finishes, smart tech and premium detail to enhance everyday driving

GWM South Africa has officially pulled the covers off the latest addition to its range of bakkies – the new GWM P300 LS range. In a move which replaces the previous P-Series Black Edition LS, GWM has added models promising to deliver even more of what local drivers value: toughness, capability and a standout design for city, worksite or adventure track.

The P300 LS duo arrives at a time when GWM’s share of the local auto market is on a steady rise, driven by a focus on models that combine robust mechanical engineering with modern comfort and tech. “The P300 LS was developed for customers who refuse to compromise,” says Floyd Ramabulana, Head of Marketing at GWM South Africa. “It’s for those who want more power, more confidence and more style – all wrapped up in a package that’s very competitively priced.”

Muscle under the hood – a powertrain built to perform

Beneath its assertive exterior, the new P300 LS carries the recently introduced and well accepted 2.4-litre Turbo Diesel engine that’s become a cornerstone of GWM’s engineering. Producing 135 kW and a muscular 480 Nm of torque, it delivers the kind of grunt that makes light work of hauling heavy loads or tackling steep climbs. Paired with a sophisticated  9-speed automatic transmission, it ensures a seamless flow of power whether you’re cruising on tar or picking your way over challenging terrain.

The combination of torque and smooth gear ratios means the LS pulls confidently in every gear, maintaining fuel efficiency while giving you the punch you need when the job demands it. A towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes underscores its serious work credentials, easily handling everything from construction trailers to boats or off-road caravans.

Engineered for the hard yards

Built on a rugged platform featuring a split chassis guard, double wishbone front suspension and leaf spring rigid axle suspension at the rear, the new P300 LS has been engineered to handle uneven surfaces and harsh loads with ease. Plus the 4WD version comes with an electronic rear differential lock, adding extra traction for when the terrain gets really harsh.

While this impressive bakkie is designed to cope with South Africa’s varied and often challenging conditions, it also delivers surprising comfort, with the suspension geometry set up to keep the ride stable and controlled, even when fully loaded.

Designed to make an impression

Visually, the new P300 LS makes no attempt at hiding its intentions. A bold grille, distinctive wheel-arch flares and eye-catching 18-inch alloys give it undeniable road presence. Upfront, LED headlights and cornering function fog lamps ensure visibility in poor conditions, while subtle details like roof rails, fixed sidesteps and an electric-lock tailgate round out a profile that’s as stylish as it’s practical.

Inside the cab, thoughtful features elevate this bakkie from utilitarian to surprisingly refined. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto, sits alongside a crisp 7-inch digital cluster, delivering all your key driving and entertainment data in sharp clarity.

Driver-centric design

You’ll find smart tech like voice recognition, wireless charging and multiple USB ports ready to keep you connected. Other stylish touches include a leather steering wheel, an innovative interior fragrance system and 6 high quality speakers, collectively creating a feel that’s more luxury SUV than workhorse bakkie.

“The new P300 LS proves that you don’t have to sacrifice comfort or tech to get serious strength,” says Ramabulana. “Whether it’s the advanced multimedia interface or the thoughtful creature comforts that turn a long drive into a pleasure, it’s all been designed with the driver and passengers in mind.”

Always-on safety systems

Confidence behind the wheel is reinforced by a suite of advanced safety technologies. The new P300 LS range features electronic stability control, traction control, hill start and downhill assist, trailer sway control and a reverse camera with dynamic parking, making tricky manoeuvres and heavy towing simpler and safer.

Backing this up is a robust braking system with ABS and EBD as well as multiple airbags, helping protect occupants in the event of an impact. Together, these features ensure that the new LS feels stable and secure, regardless of load or road.

Class-leading coverage means peace-of-mind ownership.

As with all GWM models, the P300 LS is backed by an extensive ownership package that reflects GWM’s commitment to customer peace of mind:

  • 7-Year / 200 000 Km Comprehensive &
    Transferable Warranty
  • 7-Year Roadside Assistance
  • 7-Year / 75 000 Km Service Plan
  • 12 Months or 15 000 Km Service Intervals

A bakkie for every battle

The addition of the new P300 LS broadens the P300 range, giving South Africans more choice to match their specific needs — from everyday city driving to heavy-duty farm or site work.

“This is more than just another bakkie,” adds Ramabulana. “It’s an evolution of what we’ve already proven with the P300 range — a balance of power, durability and intelligent design that’s tailored to our market. The new LS takes all that up a notch.”

LS Model Range Pricing

  • P300 2.4TD LS A/T D/C             R529 900
  • P300 2.4TD LS 4X4 A/T D/C       R579 900

The new GWM P300 LS is now available at GWM dealerships across South Africa. For detailed specs, finance options or to book a test drive, visit gwm.co.za or contact your nearest dealer today.
