On May 1, Great Wall Motor Company Limited released its sales figures for April 2025. During the month, GWM sold 100,061 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 5.55%. Sales of new energy vehicles reached 28,813 units, up 28.42% year-on-year. Sales of boxy models totaled 43,182 units, a 24.74% increase, ranking first in the Chinese market for this category. According to Yiche data, GWM continues to lead China’s hardcore off-road vehicle segment.

In April, GWM maintained its focus on quality-driven market share growth through strong market performance and brand power enhancement. On April 23, GWM’s six major brands—HAVAL, WEY, TANK SUVs, ORA, GWM Pickup, and SOUO Motorcycles—gathered at Auto Shanghai 2025 with their flagship models. During the event, GWM launched its Globalized Multi-Powertrain Strategy, unveiled the 4.0T V8 engine, and introduced a refreshed corporate logo—attracting significant attention from the market and media.
Market-Focused Growth: Brand Matrix Moves Up

HAVAL sold 56,748 vehicles in April, up 20.60% year-on-year. The new-generation HAVAL H6, equipped with a transverse-mounted 9DCT wet dual-clutch transmission, was named one of the Top 10 World Transmissions at the Longpan Cup Awards.

WEY sold 4,811 vehicles in April, up 7.92% year-on-year. The brand-new WEY 80 began presales, with orders exceeding 7,848 units.

TANK SUVs sold 19,201 vehicles in April, bringing the global cumulative total to 663,200 units. TANK 300 sold 10,586 units, marking a 13.46% year-on-year increase.

ORA sold 1,797 vehicles, with global cumulative sales reaching 518,100 units. The ORA 07 Touring Edition made its global debut at Auto Shanghai.

GWM Pickup sold 17,500 vehicles, with global cumulative sales surpassing 2.76 million units. The world’s first hybrid off-road pickup, SAHAR POER Hi4-T, began presales at the show.

At the show, GWM officially launched its Globalized Multi-Powertrain Strategy, which emphasizes a combined use of internal combustion and electric power to achieve high efficiency, extended range, and adaptability to diverse global markets.
GWM President Mu Feng stated at the press conference: “GWM doesn’t see the choice between oil and electricity as mutually exclusive. Instead, we align powertrains with the needs and driving scenarios of global users. The synergy between ICE and electric systems offers the optimal power solution for global markets.”

Complementing this strategy is GWM’s new 4.0T V8 engine, one of the highlights of the show, further reinforcing GWM’s foothold in the global premium off-road market. In plug-in hybrid technology, GWM showcased its Hi4 tech platform. The intelligent 4WD hybrid architecture Hi4 offers dynamic 3-motor 9-mode switching and intelligent energy management for four-wheel-drive performance with two-wheel-drive efficiency. The Hi4 Performance version delivers full-range efficiency and low energy consumption, particularly in mid-to large-sized vehicles. Hi4-T is optimized for rugged off-road performance with power, electric range, and fuel economy.Hi4-Z, the all-terrain hybrid platform, delivers up to 715 kW of system power, 0–100 km/h acceleration in under 4 seconds, and over 200 km of pure electric range—balancing urban and off-road usage.Hi4-G, designed for heavy-duty trucks, aims to make long-haul logistics more fuel-efficient, eco-friendly, and safe.
As GWM reaches a cumulative sales milestone of over 15 million vehicles, the company also unveiled a refreshed corporate logo at the show. The new logo adds a “GWM” base to the iconic beacon tower design—representing “Great Wall Motor” as well as the brand spirit “Go With More,” symbolizing ongoing progress.

At the event, GWM showcased new models from all six of its brands, each highlighting the company’s diverse innovation strengths. The second-generation HAVAL B07 comes equipped with the latest Hi4 technology and Coffee Pilot Plus, delivering comprehensive upgrades in efficiency, safety, and driving experience. The new WEY 80 features a smart cockpit, advanced driver assistance systems, and intelligent all-wheel drive as standard, meeting the versatile needs of modern families. The 2025 TANK 300 retains its iconic design while enhancing off-road performance, intelligent cockpit features, luxurious comfort, ergonomics, and overall reliability. ORA 07 Touring Edition combines fashion-forward aesthetics with intelligent technology and practical space, making it perfect for travel and outdoor adventures. The SAHAR POER Hi4-T integrates the strengths of new energy technology with the versatility of a pickup truck, focusing on powerful performance, adaptability across various scenarios, and dependable safety. Lastly, the SOUO S2000GL Limited Edition impressed with its “Cloud-Rising Lion” design, a moving tribute to traditional Chinese craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

In recent years, GWM has relied on its “Forest Ecosystem” to advance in intelligent cockpit systems, AI technology, core components, manufacturing, and R&D. At the show, GWM also presented its Coffee OS 3 smart cockpit system, multilingual large models, super seats, steer-by-wire systems, battery technologies, high-strength “Cage” body structures, and cutting-edge labs including its aeroacoustic and climate wind tunnels—demonstrating its commitment to safety and intelligent vehicle development.
