CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths has been recognised as Car Division CEO of the Year at the 2023 Eurostars Awards. The award ceremony took place yesterday in Munich during the IAA, with more than 70 automotive sector leaders in attendance.
The Car Division CEO award recognises his leadership at CUPRA, one of Europe’s fastest-growing automotive brands. CUPRA has delivered around 150,000 cars globally so far in 2023, which is a year-on-year growth of 60%. Driven by the brand’s success SEAT S.A., posted record-breaking financial results in the first half of 2023, with an operating profit of 371 million euros and a revenue of 7.4 billion euros. Wayne Griffiths previously received this award in 2019 in the Sales & Marketing category.
The Eurostars Awards, which are given every year by the prestigious Automotive News Europe publication, have been recognizing strategic thinking, innovation and creativity in the automotive sector since 1998. Each year, a selected list of executives from across the industry are acknowledged for their outstanding performance.
“This award recognizes the success of CUPRA, which is something quite unique in our industry. That success is down to the people behind it, the CUPRA Tribe. It’s because of their obsession that CUPRA has captured the imagination of a whole new generation of car lovers and has seen exponential growth in the past year. It’s thanks to them that I am accepting this award,” said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA.
Since its creation in 2018, more than 400,000 vehicles have been sold and has the ambition to sell 500,000 cars per year in the midterm.
