  • Emotional and electrified: New Grandland, Frontera and Mokka celebrate their Belgian premiere
  • Perennial bestsellers: Opel Corsa Electric, compact class Astra Sports Tourer estate and Vivaro Electric LCV all-rounder
  • Friday, January 10, 10:00 CET: CEO Florian Huettl presents the Opel portfolio at the Brussels Expo at booth 5.07 in hall 5

With the recent reveal of the first images of the new Opel Mokka, Opel has completely refreshed its SUV line-up this year. The German carmaker will present the new trio, which also includes the all-new Opel Grandland and Frontera, at the 101st edition of the Brussels Motor Show from January 10 to 19, 2025.

With the newcomers, Opel is further underlining its electrification strategy, because all three SUVs at booth 5.07 in hall 5 of the Brussels Expo are electrified – either fully electric or as efficient hybrids with 48-volt technology. In addition, visitors can inspect Opel bestsellers from a wide range of classes during the public days with the Corsa Electric, the Astra Sports Tourer and the commercial vehicle all-rounder Vivaro Electric all on show.

Florian Huettl will present the electrified innovations to the media on Friday, January 10 at 10:00 CET. The Opel CEO will also have a surprise in store for electric customers, with which Opel will add further impetus to its electric mobility business in 2025.

New Opel Grandland: Visionary solutions for sustainable mobility

Opel has shown what it means by ‘German Energy’ and how the brand sees the automotive future with the sensational Opel Experimental concept. The all-new Opel Grandland, which can already be ordered and is electrified in every version, brings many of the visionary innovations of the Experimental to life. The top-of-the-line SUV is the first Opel based on the BEV-native STLA Medium platform and offers numerous groundbreaking technologies, clever features and sustainable solutions. The ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2024’ winner1 always shines with the new 3D Vizor – depending on the trim, even with an illuminated Opel Blitz on the front for the first time. When viewed from the rear, the Grandland also has the continuously illuminated Opel wordmark.

In the cockpit, Grandland drivers look at two widescreen displays. Together with the optional Intelli-HUD (head-up display), they ensure that the driver can always keep his eyes on the road. In addition, Pure Mode reduces the content displayed to a necessary minimum at night or at higher speeds. The ergonomic seats with individually adjustable side cushions, certified by Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V. (AGR), also ensure pure and, above all, relaxed driving pleasure; the patented Intelli-Seat ergonomics feature is standard on both front seats. Safety and comfort are increased by features such as the adaptive, glare-free Intelli-Lux HD light with more than 50,000 elements and the practical Pixel Box. It has an illuminated, translucent glass surface under which the smartphone can be inductively charged. And with a volume of up to 1,645 litres, the new Grandland has plenty of loading space.

New Opel Frontera: Flexible, affordable all-rounder for up to seven people

With its exceptional styling and rugged interpretation of Opel’s design philosophy, the new Frontera also stands out from the crowd. Underneath the body, the 4.38 meter long, always electrified SUV with space for up to seven people offers outstanding packaging at an exemplary price-performance ratio.

Suitability for both short journeys as well as long trips is a top priority for the new Frontera. At the front, the driver and front passenger can, if desired, sit on the new patented Intelli-Seat with a slot in the middle that relieves pressure on the tailbone. 460 litres of luggage can be stored in the boot; with the seats folded down even up to around 1,600 litres. The driver and passengers look at a cockpit with a newly designed steering wheel and two optional 10-inch widescreens. Furthermore, the Frontera also offers many practical features including the Smartphone Station. Flexible, clear and modern in design and with many practical solutions, the new Opel Frontera is an affordable and family-friendly SUV.

New Opel Mokka: Crisper, more modern and infotainment from higher segments

The new Opel Mokka can also be ordered already. It completes the new Opel SUV trio, which is the youngest SUV line-up on the market. The character type has impressed with its bold and pure design from the start. This confident design inspires customers – and that is why Opel has not completely overhauled the Mokka’s appearance, but rather subtly emphasised its visual strengths. The new Opel Blitz in the centre of the Opel Vizor brand face helps to further sharpen the Mokka’s character. The biggest change can be found in the interior. The cockpit is even clearer and takes up the Opel Vizor graphics from the front of the vehicle. In addition, the driver and passengers can enjoy the next generation of the multimedia and navigation infotainment system.

The further developed bestseller now offers a 10-inch digital driver information display and an equally large colour touchscreen as standard. The latter can be easily operated via widgets, just like a smartphone. In combination with the optional navigation system, a “Hey Opel” is sufficient to use natural speech recognition – which has now become even more desirable thanks to the addition of ChatGPT. The system can now learn and independently suggest destinations and route guidance based on the habits of the linked driver profile. Map updates are made available over-the-air while the optional 180-degree rear-view camera ensures a clear overview when manoeuvring in cities.

One thing all three newcomers have in common: the Grandland, Frontera and Mokka take Opel’s ‘Greenovation’ approach into account. They come with electrified drives (battery-electric, as hybrids with 48-volt technology and the Grandland will soon also be available as a plug-in hybrid). Additionally, they avoid chrome applications on the outside and use fabrics and materials with recycled content in the interior, so that they also conserve resources in this respect.

Bestsellers in different segments: Opel Corsa, Astra Sports Tourer and Vivaro

In addition, visitors of the Brussels Motor Show can take a closer look at further Opel favourites from various segments. These include the bestselling Opel Corsa small car, which has always been at the top of its segment in Germany in recent years. Thanks to its qualities it also shines as the Corsa Electric for locally emissions-free everyday mobility.

Those looking for something a little bigger – whether for the family of for work – can choose the Opel Astra Sports Tourer. In addition to many technology and comfort highlights, the compact class estate impresses with its flexible space. The rear seats can be folded down as needed using the Easy Fold function in a 40:20:40 ratio. The boot volume increases from 597 to up to 1,634 litres – enough storage space even for large luggage or bulky items.

Commercial customers looking for a state-of-the-art all-rounder that can carry a significant load and still emit zero local emissions will find what they are looking for in the Opel Vivaro Electric. The 100 kW (136 hp) electric van, which is available in two lengths, comes either with a 50 kWh battery and a range of up to 223 kilometres (according to WLTP) or with a 75 kWh battery and a range of up to 352 kilometres (WLTP). In addition, with a height of around 1.90 metres, the Vivaro Electric is suitable for underground parking and, thanks to the battery’s practical underfloor design, offers full flexibility in terms of space utilisation and loading volume. Up to 18 state-of-the-art driver assistance systems also make daily work trips and manoeuvring in the city or on company premises easier and safer.
